SproutTrace Privacy Policy
Guangzhou Liangyi Software Co., Ltd. (“we,” “us,” or the “Company”) provides SproutTrace (the “App”). This policy explains how the App processes information and the controls available to you.
1. Information processed by the App
Child profile and growth records
The App processes the nickname, date of birth, sex, measurement date, height, weight, and optional growth notes that you choose to enter. Height, weight, and birth information may be considered sensitive, health-related, or children’s data under applicable law.
App preferences
Unit choices, the selected profile, reminder settings, growth-standard choices, and similar preferences are stored on your device.
Purchases
Apple processes payment and Apple Account information. Through StoreKit, the App receives product information, verified transaction results, and entitlement status so it can complete purchases, restore purchases, and unlock features. We do not receive your card number or Apple Account password.
The current version contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDK. It does not access contacts, photos, precise location, microphone, or camera, and it does not send growth records to Company-operated servers. iCloud sync is on by default and can be turned off in App settings. When enabled, records sync through your private Apple CloudKit database.
2. Why information is processed
- to create and manage child profiles and growth records at your request;
- to sync records across devices signed in to the same Apple Account when iCloud sync is enabled;
- to perform unit conversion, charts, growth-reference comparisons, and CSV export on your device;
- to schedule local notifications only when you enable reminders;
- to complete, restore, and verify in-app purchases; and
- to keep the App operating securely.
We do not use growth information for advertising, cross-app tracking, profiling, or automated decisions. Where applicable law requires consent, the parent or guardian must provide it before entering the child’s data; consent may be withdrawn by stopping the relevant processing and deleting the data as described below.
3. Children’s privacy
The App has no child account, social feature, or direct communication with children. It is intended for an adult to enter information about a child. In the United States, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act may apply to online services directed to children under 13 that collect personal information from them. SproutTrace is directed to parents and guardians and does not collect information directly from a child into Company-operated systems.
Use a nickname where possible. Do not put a full legal name, address, school, government identifier, contact details, diagnosis, or other unnecessary information in free-text notes.
4. Storage, retention, and security
- On-device storage: profiles and records are stored in the App’s private storage on your device.
- iCloud sync: when enabled, the same data is stored in the App’s private CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account. Apple states that private-database content is controlled by the user and is not visible in the developer portal. Sync depends on your Apple Account, device, network, and Apple services.
- Retention: data remains while you retain the applicable profile, local App data, or associated CloudKit data. When sync is enabled, edits and deletions are synchronized to other devices using the same Apple Account. Turning off sync does not delete existing local or CloudKit data. Deleting the App from one device does not necessarily delete CloudKit data or cancel a subscription.
- Security: the App relies on the iOS sandbox and Apple platform security. No security measure can guarantee absolute protection; protect your device passcode and Apple Account.
5. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell growth records, share them for cross-context behavioral advertising, or disclose them publicly. Information may be handled as follows:
- Apple CloudKit: provides optional private-database storage and synchronization. Apple processes this data under your Apple service settings and applicable Apple terms.
- Apple App Store and StoreKit: provide payment, transaction, and entitlement infrastructure.
- Your exports: when you export a CSV or use the system share sheet, the file is provided to the app or recipient you select. Their handling is outside our control.
- Legal requirements: information actually held by us may be disclosed where required by valid law or legal process. We normally cannot retrieve the contents of your private local or CloudKit records.
6. Your choices and rights
You can view, correct, add to, delete, and export records in the App; turn reminders or iCloud sync off; and delete child profiles and their measurements. Deletions may be irreversible, so export a copy first if needed.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information; withdraw consent; appeal a request decision; or complain to a regulator. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a statutory privacy right. Because the Company does not receive the contents of private growth records, we usually cannot access, export, correct, or delete those records remotely; we will explain the controls available on your device and through Apple.
California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used in the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes outside providing the requested App functions. These statements do not imply that the Company meets the statutory thresholds for every state privacy law.
7. Notifications and device permissions
The App requests notification permission only after you enable reminders. Reminders are scheduled locally. You can disable them in the App or iOS Settings without affecting recordkeeping.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when features, processing, or law changes. We will provide a prominent in-App notice for material changes and obtain a new parent or guardian choice where required. Existing data will not be used for an unrelated new purpose without the authorization required by law.
